Station Belorusskaya

Opened: 30.01.1952
Architects: I.Taranov, N.Bykova

Opened on the 30 of January 1952, the name speaks for itself – in appreciation of the Slavic brethren Republic of Belorussia (Belarus).  The hall of the station is clad in light-colored marble.  A typical white Russian emblem is depicted in the flooring and repeated in the mosaic images of the vaulted ceiling.

The ceiling is the absolute highlight in this hall and it is here that mosaic designers first carried out Florentine mosaic. Natural stone was used instead of colored glass or Smalt.
